Kings World Podcast - Ep 1.16

Sunday, October 26, 2008

Marie and I are back and we get down to business in this episode. We review the past three games where the Kings faced off against Colorado, St. Louis, and Nashville. If you think we were completely okay with the game against Nashville not being aired, guess again. Much thanks to the NHL for, once again, rendering both teams irrelevant. We then preview the games for this coming week against Detroit, Vancouver, and Calgary. Will Michael Cammalleri be booed or hear some cheers from Kings fans? Your guess is as good as ours! Please listen in because the Player Of The Week is well deserving of his props. Enjoy!

Great show, guys. Although I think you peaked at the 0.58 s mark, great show.

Blast! And we were trying so hard too. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Comments for today... I was at the Ontario Reign vs Las Vegas Wranglers game on Saturday. Jeff Zatkoff is the man. Vegas outshot ontario 35 to 18 and Zatkoff allowed only one goal. Downright ridiculous. I'm sure you could have guess this, but I vote Moller stays. It will be a sad day (and I may actually cry) if he is sent back to juniors. Regarding Ivanans actually seeing time on the top line in the St Louis game, Sully has been a one man wrecking crew as of late and I would love to see him back up there if for that reason alone. The guy that pummeled Wayne Simmonds was Yan Stastny, but good for him standing up for himself outside of the preseason. I had to look it up, but Jarret Stoll is only 26? Good Lord, Rachel hunter is half again his age at 39. damn.

I’m really glad Zatkoff is doing well. Standing up to 35 shots is sick. I really hope Moller isn’t sent back either. I think the second line is tearing it up and to have him leave would just mess with the mojo.

Who would you put on the second line in place of Sully if he were moved to the top line?

Yeah, Rachel Hunter went from Rod Stewart to Jarret Stoll (with whatever in between). I think she made a good decision.

If I had to replace O'Sullivan on the second line, I suppose it would have to be the revolving door position of Manchester boys. Moulson, Purcell, Calder, whoever else.

Side note, I've decided that many of those in attendance at the Ontario game were jaded former kings fans. It had to be a good 50% of the Kings jerseys were the crest front from six years ago. My theory is that these people are dusting off the cobwebs and getting back into it after a series of unsuccessful seasons out in Los Angeles.

Moulson... I miss him in the lineup...

Do you think it's jaded Kings fans watching the Reign or just Kings fans that live too far away from Staples to get there on a regular basis?

Brad October 27, 2008 at 12:42 PM

Define regular basis. I live about 35-40 miles away and try to catch five or six games per season (including Section 103 tonight). But it's tough to say, I'll have to start talking to more people at the games bit that's just the vibe I was getting considering how few of the older jerseys you see at Staples.

Connie October 27, 2008 at 12:55 PM

Hmm, I think 5 or 6 is pretty decent. I live a little less than half the distance from Staples that you do and I made it to almost 15 or so last season. Yeah, definitely ask around to see what the overall feeling is there. That’d be very interesting to see.
