Cammy On Cribs

Monday, March 17, 2008

Here is Michael Cammalleri on Canada's version of MTV's Cribs. It begins with Cammy showing two Asian-themed items in his foyer, and I was kind of afraid that he was going to have that whole theme running through his house. (Why is it always the white boys with the Asian fascination? But I digress.) It seems a cool enough pad in the South Bay with 3 floors and a rooftop area where one could possibly enjoy a beverage of choice. So yeah, good times had by all.

Forewarning: If you currently have a headache or get motion sickness, I wouldn't recommend this video for you.

I like that his mom picked everything out basically. And that he likes seashells.

And I'm pretty American Cribs never highlights hockey players...but I don't watch it often so I'm not sure. Except Mike Comrie they might like, but only because he's dating Hilary Duff.

American Cribs had Sean Avery once. And he borrowed Pavol Demitra's Bently for the show. Pathetic.

Cammalleri seems like a good guy. I'm not sure about the asian themed downstairs but you can tell alot about a guy from his key chain. Simple chain = down to earth. Plus his hero is Joe Sakic and his best buddy is JR. That's solid.

I want to hear a little more on the white boy Asian fascination. Talk to us.

Elise - I liked the whole seashells thing too. I'm wondering why it took so long for this clip to be released; I had heard that Cammy did this a looong time ago.

Nemmy - I did hear about Avery doing that; what a "cool" guy. Well, I meant that I was relieved that it WASN'T Asian-themed. And it's hard to imagine JR NOT being friends with someone. ha.

You want me to explain the white boy Asian fascination? Is it different out in New York than in LA?

I understand the fascination with asian women but it would be interesting to hear your take on the subject.

No video of the Darcy Tucker crib?

I think it'd take me a loooooong time to tell you what I think of that particular topic (one of my majors was Asian American Studies), so yeah. That is another topic of conversation that I could probably talk your ear off.

I was unaware Darcy Tucker did one of these. Maybe I should watch MTV more.

I like his crib, it's cool. I think ALL L.A. athletes live in that area. His office was the best, the Sakic, Luc, and JR sticks were a nice touch.
I bet his crib hits the market this summer, just a guess.

You think this summer? I was thinking maybe the trade deadline in 09. We should have a bet or something.

Man, that would take forever. I'm pretty sure there are full semester university classes about that subject.

And Cammalleri has more clothes than I do. That is just not normal!

Seriously, Sherry. Have you read The Asian Mystique? And we could seriously talk about this subject forever.

Cammy is silly, with his silly fitted jeans, and fitted shirts.

CKim, I've never read it but I think it would be interesting. It's weird for me personally to see how Asian Culture is so commodified because you know, I'm Asian myself but I identify more with being Canadian.

I suppose if you can afford it why not, haha. Poor Cammalleri, maybe he feels pressured to look all fashionable living with all the movie stars in LA.

That'd actually be really interesting to see what the differences are between the US and Canada. I'm sure whatever they are, they'll be slight differences. In my Asian American Studies courses we read some articles on Asian-Americans in Canada. It was only a few but very interesting nonetheless.

Maybe it's because Cammy is of smaller stature that he seems.... "silly."
